Drift & Marnix is a tale in two glances: one looking out into the great unknown, the other glancing sideways at it with extreme caution. Drift, the cloaked space traveler with a helmet like a midnight moon, floats in silence, tethered to nothing, untouchable and unknowable. Marnix, a nervous woodland tinkerer with wide eyes and a twig in his mouth, looks up like he’s just realized the universe has plans for him, and they’re weird. The contrast is stark. The tension is perfect.
Rendered in bold black ink, this piece holds all the mystery of science fiction and the dry humor of reluctant fantasy. It's about the moment before an unlikely alliance or the awkward silence between dimensions. Either way, something’s about to happen.
